Whether you want to enjoy beautiful views, green oases, culture or exciting history - here are five summer favorites for a perfect day out with friends or family!
1. Skinnarviksberget & Monteliusvägen - Magical views of Stockholm
Want to enjoy the best view in Stockholm? Just a few minutes' walk from us, you'll find Skinnarviksberget, Stockholm's highest natural point. It offers a fantastic panoramic view of the City Hall, Riddarfjärden and Old Town - perfect for an evening picnic or a romantic sunset.
Then continue along Monteliusvägen - a winding walk along Mariaberget with perhaps Stockholm's most photographed view. The Old Town, City Hall and Riddarfjärden spread out in front of you in one direction and picturesque red cottages in the other. A place that is guaranteed to awaken the artist in you, so don't forget your sketchpad or camera!
2. Tantolunden - Park hangout with a pulse
Picnics, beach volleyball, frisbee golf - Tantolunden is Stockholm's green living room. Explore the charming allotments that have been here since 1915, take a dip or play a round of mini golf or boules. Tantolunden offers a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space for both activity and rest.
3. Långholmen - A captivating story
Just a stone's throw from Södermalm is Långholmen - a small island with a big content. Get lost along lush green paths, swim from the rocks, check out the boats or rent a kayak and paddle around the island. Don't miss the old prison - now a hostel with a restaurant, café and museum. Långholmen is a unique place with as much history as nature experience - and in the middle of the city.
4. Mosebacke & Katarinakvarteren - Culture, charm and cobblestone history
Head up Katarinaberget and discover the historic Mosebacke Square - a cultural oasis where the classic Södra Teatern and Mosebacketerrassen come together. Here you can enjoy food, drink, music and a variety of events - all with an unbeatable view of Old Town and Stockholm's inlet. A perfect meeting place for an "After Escape" or an evening hangout in the sunset.
Behind Mosebacke hides Katarinakvarteren, where cobbled alleys tell of another time. This is where the protagonists of Stockholm's witch trials lived in the late 17th century, and it's no coincidence that one of our escape rooms is inspired by this area. Don't miss the well-preserved 18th-century wooden houses along Stigbergsgatan, Mäster Mikaels Gata and Fiskargatan. A must for city romantics and history lovers!
Continue to Fjällgatan for another breathtaking view!
5. Hornstulls strand - Market and cinema
On Hornstull's beach you will find cozy outdoor cafes along the water and out on piers - lovely summer hangouts and watering holes. Every Saturday and Sunday during the summer, Hornstulls Market takes place with flea markets, vintage, design, crafts, delicacies and much more!
It is also home to Bio Rio, one of Stockholm's few preserved neighborhood cinemas from the 1940s. The cinema has a wide range of films and there is also a restaurant in the building.
